FUND-RAISER:GABO-GABDHOLE.

We did agree on some issues regarding the situation of the new Degmo. For now we agreed to concentrate our efforts on resettling the community.
Having to build a new Degmo and providing the basic primary resources will only invite the other tribes from the neighboring regions. Geri Community in the past both in Somalia and Ethiopia have been through the same situation before, and we would not do the same mistakes again and again, ‘Once beaten twice shy’. What I mean by providing the basics i.e. water and school and having few Geri coming to the new Degmo then that itself will be another failed mission.
To avoid any community settling with us, we need to resettle in large numbers, build homes, and invite the refugees from Kenya and Geri IDP's in Somalia to relocate and build their bases in the new Degmo. The moment the majority becomes the Geri community, then there’re many people who are willing to invest in new projects that will ensure the beneficiaries are from our community.

Once we have the majority in the area, and that has to be confirmed by the elders from the Somalia assisted by the Diaspora team, then we can hugely invest in healthcare and educational projects in Gaboow Gabdhoole.

We also agreed the Geri community in UK to hold a fund raising day for the School Building projects. The money collected will solely be for the School Project. Once we have the funds we could also look for any NGO who could partner with us in this project. The fund raising day has been agreed to be on 10 Nov 2012 @ 13:00. Invitation will be sent to all Geri community in UK and Ireland

We all agreed to collect a monthly community contribution which will also go towards other developmental community projects in the area.
